St Oswald’s Outstanding Star Status

Date

16 February 2010

Description

Staff at St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth, Newcastle are ‘seeing stars’ after welcoming the news that they have received a two star, ‘outstanding’ Best Company Accreditation. Best Companies established the accreditation award scheme to acknowledge excellence in the workplace. Based on staff feedback, it looks at employee engagement as an integral part of a company’s success and growth, and sets a benchmark for other employers. The accreditation scheme follows a Michelin star style system with companies awarded one star for first class, two stars for outstanding and three stars for extraordinary performance. James Ellam, St Oswald’s Chief Executive said: “We are thrilled with the news that we have been awarded such a prestigious rating. I believe that our staff and volunteers are our greatest asset and it is those who deliver the quality services that have become the hallmark of our work. I’ve always been extremely proud to be part of this remarkable organisation and the Best Company Accreditation really enforces what we stand for and the importance of our staff.”
