Description |
Pentagon Partnership is looking for new members to complement and add value to our existing Steering Group.
Historically comprised of representatives from local infrastructure organisations and community networks in Tyne and Wear, the Pentagon Partnership Steering Group took a decision in October 2009 to widen the criteria for membership in attempt to be more representative of the sector we serve.
There are currently four available places on the Pentagon Partnership Steering Group, which meets quarterly; the next meeting is scheduled for January 21st 2010 and we hope to have new representatives in place at that meeting.
If you are from a third sector organisation that works in Tyne and Wear* and you have expertise in two or more of the following subject areas, we’d be pleased to hear from you:
Third sector public service delivery / commissioning
Collaboration and partnership working
Developing enterprise within the sector
Influencing decision-makers
Third sector involvement in economic regeneration including Employment and Skills and Transport issues
* While our work to involve the third sector in the Tyne and Wear City Region work does cover Durham and Northumberland, this project represents only around 15% of our funded work; organisations in Durham and Northumberland have the opportunity to steer our City Region work through membership of our Employment and Skills and Transport Focus Groups. Please contact us if you require more information about this.
Background information
Pentagon Partnership is the strategic partnership for third sector involvement in the economic regeneration of Tyne and Wear.
The partnership aims to encourage sustainability and enterprise in the sector, working with a range of partners to share good practice around enterprise, collaboration, asset development, public service delivery and impact measurement.
Pentagon also acts as the interface between the third sector and the Tyne & Wear City Region, a cross-sector partnership formed in an effort to address some of the key challenges – such as generating more sustainable economic prosperity and delivering greater economic inclusion – facing Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Durham.
Pentagon Partnership is currently delivering projects funded by the Big Lottery BASIS programme and the North East Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, and is a partner in two regional projects funded by Newcastle University and the Third Sector Capacity Fund.
The Steering Group provides scrutiny and overall direction for the Partnership’s work, with operational and strategic management (including the employment of the Pentagon Partnership Development Worker) handled by North Tyneside VODA

A full induction process will take place ahead of the next meeting of the Steering Group (2pm on 21st January at North Tyneside VODA) |
