North East firms have been offered a “Royal appointment” to learn how they can join the UK’s business elite as a winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
UK Trade & Investment has teamed up with The Queen’s Awards Office and Award winner Caroline Theobald to host a series of special events across the region to encourage companies to apply for the ultimate business accolade – The Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
The Queen’s Awards recognise outstanding achievement of businesses in three key categories – International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. Individuals can also be nominated for The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP), which recognise those who have played an outstanding and significant role in promoting the growth of business enterprise or entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in others.
Each event will include “a conversation with Caroline Theobald” as she talks to regional QA winners from all the categories about the benefits it can bring and to offer advice on making an application to maximise the chances of success.
The Queen’s Awards events will be held as follows:
· Monday 7 September – MIMA, Middlesbrough
· Wednesday 16 September – NETPark, Durham
· Tuesday 22 September – The Baltic, Gateshead
· Wednesday 30 September – The White Swan, Alnwick
All events start at 5.30pm and there will also be a chance to talk to fellow delegates and a buffet and refreshments will be provided.
The events are free but places are limited and must be booked beforehand. To book your place contact the North East International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or e-mail enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk.
