A CHARITY committed to enhancing the lives of disabled children and their families has been given a financial boost by a North-East law firm.
BHP Law donated £250 to the Sunshine Fund, a Newcastle-based organisation that provides essential equipment and learning aids for local youngsters.
The fund was established by King George V during a visit to Tyneside in 1928, when he made a donation to allow a group of children to spend a day at the coast.
Today, it helps to improve the quality of life for disabled children throughout the region and distributed 101 grants last year.
Its celebrity supporters include Geordie TV presenters Ant and Dec, and rugby star Rob Andrew.
