Description |
As part of the Enterprise Strategy and Budget 2008 the Chancellor, Alistair Darling, announced that Anne Glover, Chief executive of Amadeus Capital Partners, would lead an independent inquiry into the barriers faced by small firms looking to supply goods or service to the public sector. She has also been asked to review the impact of government actions over the last five years and to make recommendations on the steps Government should take to ensure that more small firms are able to access the market place. In addition, the committee will consider the practicality of setting a 30 per cent target of all public sector contracts being awarded to small firms. Anne has been asked to report to the Chancellor and the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory reform before the Pre Budget Report later this year.
