Introduction to Business Clubs North East
Membership of BCNE gives constituent business clubs the advantage of being able to offer a wider range of services to their members than they could possibly do if they operated totally independently.
Each club remains totally autonomous but the strength in numbers has huge benefits not least, of which is effective lobbying and representation at local, regional and national level.
A basic subscription charge of £200 per club was introduced in 2005 as a way of gaining commitment to the organisation and to pay for some of the activities undertaken by BCNE on behalf of the clubs. An optional charge has also been levied against the clubs for inclusion in the BCNE web site.
The individual clubs each have a core committee who undertake the organisation and management responsibilities of their club, on behalf of its members. Of the core committees, each club nominates two representatives to fulfil the management responsibilities of Business Clubs North East. It is from this management committee that BCNE Ltds’ Board of Directors is drawn.
The BCNE Management Committee, Directors and Co-ordinator meet monthly to address any issues that may have arisen and to formulate strategy for the further development of the network and services to the members.
On a day-to-day basis the management of the organisation is the responsibility of a self employed co-ordinator, who, in liaison with the Board, ensures the objectives of BCNE are met.
